- Senior police inspector Konstantin Telipaylo (call sign Casper) was killed in action on March 28, 2022, while performing official duties in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region. He was helping his comrades get out from under the rubble. The warrior was 37 years old. Konstantin was born in the village of Mangush, Donetsk region. From the age of 16, he lived in Mariupol. He graduated from the Priazovsky State Technical University with a degree in "Metallurgy of Ferrous Metals." He worked as an engineer at the Illich Iron and Steel Works and the Azovstal Plant. Konstantin's life changed on May 9, 2014. Then, together with friends, he delivered the wounded to ambulances that could not reach the burning police building in Mariupol due to shelling. After that, he went to serve as a scout in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He mastered paramedicine and explosive ordnance disposal. He participated in battles near Vodiane, Kominternove, Dokuchaievsk, Pavlopil, Novolaspa, Starokrymske, and Shchastia. When he was demobilized, he joined the ranks of the patrol police. "Brave character, experience, and considerable physical training allowed the man to move to the TOUR company. But he did not stop there, raised the bar even higher, and joined KORD," Konstantin's wife Tetiana said. Since February 24, 2022, Konstantin has been defending the city of Mariupol as part of the KORD special police unit. He was a senior inspector of the 2nd department for conducting special operations. He participated in the protection of public safety, conducted counter-sabotage measures, and provided assistance to civilians who suffered from shelling. "Thanks to him, I learned what true love is. I am grateful to God that such a man met in my life and gave me 12 years of happiness! Kostya had a good sense of humor, was always in a good mood. Kindness and courage were combined in his character. Because of his kind eyes, the man had the call sign Casper. He was a unique person in every sense of the word. He set goals for himself and always moved towards them. I and my daughters were very proud of him! We loved spending time together, there was always something to talk about, laugh, and dream about. With his good energy, he filled the entire space, and from this, everyone felt good and comfortable. I thought there was no problem that we could not solve together. One night during the full-scale invasion, he came home, and his daughters asked him, 'Dad, you won't die, will you?' He replied, 'Of course not, my dear daughters. I still want to see my grandchildren.' And these are my daughters from my first marriage. He loved them very much and took care of us all, especially during the occupation. We all miss him very much, his laughter, his voice, his apt advice, his warm and strong hugs," Tetiana said. The deceased is survived by his wife, stepdaughters, and mother. Lieutenant of police Konstantin Telipaylo was awarded the Medal "For Military Service to Ukraine," the badge of the 131st Separate Reconnaissance Battalion "Cross of the Scout," and the Order "For Courage" III degree (posthumously).Memory Platform 'Memorial'
