Leonid V. Kozyriev (Kozyr)

Born on September 27, 1989, in the village of Sokolove, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region. In childhood, he moved with his family to the village of Pishchanka, Novomoskovsk district. He graduated from the general education school in the village of Pishchanka. $ Worked as a security guard. $ From August 2014 to 2015, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under partial mobilization. He served in the 43rd Territorial Defense Battalion "Patriot" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (in November 2014, the battalion was reformed into the 43rd Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - military unit field post V0829). $ Since 2015, he served under contract as a senior gunner of the 43rd Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit field post V0829, city of Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region). $ He participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Kozyr". $ On April 19, 2016, around 21:35, Junior Sergeant Kozyrev was killed during an artillery shelling of a platoon stronghold near the urban-type settlement of Zaitseve, Horlivka City Council (now Bakhmut district) in Donetsk region, when a shell hit his dugout. Along with him, soldier Oleg Lohvynenko and senior soldier Anatoliy Matveyev were killed. $ On April 22, 2016, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Pishchanka, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region.
