Liubomyr V. Mitrenha

Junior Sergeant Lyubomyr Mitrenga was killed on September 12, 2022 in battle with the occupants during offensive actions near the village of Ternovi Pody, Mykolaiv region. The defender received fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery shelling. He was 40 years old. Lyubomyr was born in the village of Velykyi Lyubin, Lviv region. There were 5 children in the family. He stuwas killed at the local school. Later, he became a talented carpenter. He carved extremely beautiful works. He saw beauty in the simple. All relatives and friends have his art pieces: icon frames, carved cornices (Hutsul, classical, with deer), stands, shelves, furniture. When the full-scale war began, the man could not stay at home. Lyubomyr joined the ranks of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo and went to defend Ukraine. He was proud of his military service. He was a tank commander. He was constantly calming his relatives when he was at the front so that they would not worry. According to his comrades, when someone of them was sad or in a bad mood, Lyubomyr always knew the right words to console, even just telling jokes. But he was always courageous, brave and feared nothing. "Lyubchyk" is what everyone called him. Our Lyubchyk. Lyubomyr was a good person, always helping everyone, cheerful, jocular, sociable. He had many friends and was the soul of the company. He was everywhere. He had a lot of things to do and wanted to do everything. He said that everything would be fine. And at the front, he lacked his loved ones, his loved ones: his wife, children, mother, brothers, sisters... In that last battle, the enemy's bullet hit Lyubomyr right in the heart, giving him no chance of survival. Also, according to the guys who survived, when they started bombing them, Lyubomyr ordered everyone to lie on the ground. Thanks to this, some comrades survived, and our Lyubchyk was killed..." - said Oksana, the cousin of the fallen warrior. The serviceman was buried in the local cemetery in his native town in the Lviv region. Lyubomyr is survived by his mother, three brothers, a sister, his wife Halyna, son Volodymyr and daughter Anastasia.
