A few months later, the man signed a contract with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He served at the customs in Odesa. "Since the age of 14, the son has been moonlighting with local farmers and tenants to have his own money. At home, he did not avoid any work - he cooked food, chopped firewood, and weeded potatoes. He was very independent, resolved all issues on his own, without parental help, persistently achieved his goal. He loved to learn new things, hurried to live, as if he knew that his age would be so short... Maksym was very sociable, came from the front on leave and did not stay at home for a single day. He wanted to see all his acquaintances. He also decided to buy a car so that he could transport food and other necessary cargo for his unit. He said it was for the guys to make life easier on the front line," Natalia Oleksandrivna, his mother, said. Oleksandr Pashkov, the senior electromechanic of the Pyatihatsky track distance, speaks of Maksym as a responsible employee, a cheerful and positive person: "He welded connectors to the rail circuits, helped maintain the equipment in proper condition. The work is responsible, because the safety of traffic depends on it. In our memory, Maksym will remain smiling and sociable. He loved life and rejoiced in every new day. He willingly came to the aid of colleagues, even if it was not his work. He found a common language with everyone. Even during his service, he did not forget about the team: he called, visited on leave." Maksym was buried in the city of Pyatihatky in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
