- Sergeant Maxim Linnyk died on August 30, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Selidovo in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 32 years old. Maxim was born in Zhytomyr. He graduated from a school in the village of Lazheva in the Khmilnytskyi region, and then from the Kozeiatyn Interregional Higher Vocational School of Railway Transport. He was a plasterer, tiler, finisher, and mason by profession. He loved to learn something new, repair cars, and do welding work. But he loved riding a motorcycle the most, which he repaired himself. In 2015, the man participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade, where he later became an instructor in the training of young specialists. After the contract ended, he returned to civilian life. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked at the Kyiv company "Gorizontal 77": he was engaged in the installation of barriers along the roads. The work was hard, but the man loved it very much. After February 24, 2022, Maxim again took up the defense of the Motherland. He served in the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He was the head of the tank range. During his service, Maxim was awarded the President of Ukraine's Award "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation", the medal "Defender of the Fatherland", and the badge "Participant of the Anti-Terrorist Operation". The head of the Lviv Regional State Administration presented the defender with a commemorative watch. "A golden man. Such are written about in novels. A loving son and brother, the best dad for his two sons Nazar and Makar. No matter how tired Maxim was, he always found time for them. For the sake of his boys, he was ready for anything. He taught them only the right things. He loved to read and also taught his children to love books. He always took care of his relatives, helped in everything. Everyone who knew Maxim characterizes him as a wise, kind, prudent, educated, positive, sincere man. He was always able to listen and support. He incredibly loved to do good deeds," said the warrior's wife Olga. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in the village of Kozeiatyn in the Vinnytsia region. At home, Maxim was awaited by his mother, brother, sister, wife, and two sons. He was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Kozeiatyn".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
