Maksym V. Dinovskyi (Maks)

Soldier Maksym Dinovskyi (call sign Max) was killed on July 2, 2023 near the village of Berestove in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received a fatal head injury as a result of enemy fire from a 2S4 "Tulpan" self-propelled mortar. On June 4, the defender turned 21 years old. Maksym was born and lived in Chernivtsi. He graduated from the Chernivtsi Vocational Lyceum of Automotive Service and obtained the profession of a car body repair specialist and a manual welding electric welder. He was passionate about football and basketball. Above all, he loved to travel. He worked in his profession and then went on a contract service to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the full-scale war, the man defended his country in the ranks of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss". Together with his comrades-in-arms, he fought in the hottest areas of the front. "He was a true patriot, strong, kind, sincere, loving, caring. He dreamed of living in a free, independent Ukraine. He planned to start a family after the Victory. Always smiling. Maksym is not only my beloved grandson and support, he was my hope, support and my life. He never complained. He helped everyone who needed help as much as he could. I miss him very much... I can't believe he's gone. With tears in my eyes, I walk past the bus station where I always met and saw off Maksym. He is always in my heart, my soul and my thoughts. The grandson said that defending Ukraine is his duty and if he went to defend the country, he must go to the end. He gave the most valuable thing - his life - for a peaceful sky," said the grandmother of the fallen Svitlana, who raised him. The young warrior was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the central cemetery in Chernivtsi. He is survived by his grandmother Svitlana, uncle Serhii, as well as other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms. The hero was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
