Biography
Maxim Yuriyovych Chepel was born on April 9, 1997, in the village of Chernyakhiv, Zhytomyr district, Zhytomyr region. From 2003 to 2014, he studied at the local gymnasium. After graduating from the gymnasium, he enrolled in Malyn Forestry Technical College, which he completed in June 2017, receiving a diploma as a junior specialist in "Geodesy and Land Management." Since June 26, 2019, he served under contract in the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade. He participated in the war in Eastern Ukraine, serving in the Luhansk region from October 2019 to April 2020, for which he was granted the status of combatant in May 2021. He returned to military service in October 2021. While on the front lines, he held the position of driver-electrician of the communication platoon of the communication company of the management battalion of military unit A0281. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he remained on the front lines. He was killed on March 22, 2022, in the city of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, as a result of an enemy rocket strike. The farewell ceremony for the fallen took place on March 30, 2022, in the Chernyakhiv community. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Maxim Yuriyovych Chepel was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Burial place
