- 42-year-old junior lieutenant Mykhailo Savchuk (call sign Sava) died on July 30, 2023 in the area of the Serebryansk forestry, near the city of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. While performing his official duties, he came under enemy artillery fire and received a fatal explosive injury. Mykhailo was born in the village of Bilashiv, Rivne region. He graduated from the National University of Water Management and Environmental Engineering, where he obtained the qualification of a civil engineer. He lived with his family in the city of Boyarka, Kyiv region. He was engaged in entrepreneurial activities in the construction industry. He loved fishing and was passionate about driving cars. He spent a lot of time behind the wheel and was an excellent driver. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man defended the Kyiv region from the occupiers. He was awarded by the mayor of the city of Boyarka for active participation in the defense of the Kyiv region during active hostilities. Later, he served in the 25th Brigade of the Public Order Protection of the National Guard of Ukraine named after Prince Askold. He held the position of commander of a rifle platoon in a rifle company. "He was the best in absolutely everything. There are no and will never be such as my husband. He was always ready to help everyone, he never refused anyone. He was very sociable, he found a common language with everyone, he had a lot of friends. We lived with him for 16.5 happy years, there was no "I" or "you", it was always "we". He loved me and the children very much. He spent the most time with his youngest daughter, she was with him everywhere: at work, behind the wheel, and during fishing... He was sincere, cheerful and genuine, he never feared anything and from the first days of the war he stood up to defend the Kyiv region, later continued to defend the Motherland in the ranks of the National Guard. He always repeated the same phrase: 'If I don't go to protect all of us from the enemy, I won't be able to look my children in the eye in the future.' We don't know how to live without our Mishka..." Marina Savchuk said. "Mykhailo was a true hero and a role model for his fighters, he himself went into battle, leading his platoon," his comrades-in-arms added. The officer was buried in the village of Razvazh in the Rivne region. That's where he spent his childhood, and that's where his relatives are buried. The defender left behind parents, a wife and two daughters, who were 15 and 3 years old at the time of his death. Mykhailo Savchuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
