Mykhailo O. Slavynskyi (Serzhant)

Junior Sergeant Mykhailo Slavynskyi (call sign Sergeant) was killed on June 11, 2023, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region. The warrior was forever 27 years old. Mykhailo was born in the village of Tiutiunnyky in the Zhytomyr region. In childhood, he moved with his family to the village of Borova in the Kyiv region. He graduated from the local school. Later, he studied at the Berdychiv Woodworking College and Kyiv Vocational School No. 17. With the start of the recruitment to the police school, the man decided to go there. In his free time, he loved to relax in nature, drive a car, and spend time with his family and friends. When the full-scale Russian invasion began, Mykhailo joined the local territorial defense of the Kyiv region. After the liberation of the capital region, he underwent training and went to defend the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. In March 2023, he was selected and transferred to the ranks of the AZOV Special Operations Unit of the National Guard of Ukraine. "My brother was an ordinary guy before the war, but he was always a hero to me. From the first day of the full-scale war, he was in the Territorial Defense of the Kyiv region and defended the Motherland. Later, he was transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and after training, he was at the forefront in Bakhmut. In March, he joined the Azov, in the assault brigade. At the end of May, he went to the Zaporizhzhia region, where he was killed during the enemy's assault. He was a young, cheerful, and kind guy, with his whole life ahead of him. When he went to war, to the front line, he was not afraid of death. He planned a wedding and children, but the fate of the defender turned out to be tragic. We, the whole family, will remember him as a kind, fair, and cheerful person," said the deceased's sister, Olena. "Every resident of the Chudniv City Territorial Community bows their head before the courage, resilience, and patriotism of our hero-fellow countryman. The name of Mykhailo Slavynskyi will forever be inscribed in the history of our community and the country. The ruthless war took not only his life, but also his dreams and future... The defender served faithfully and truthfully for our Ukraine, for independence, for the peace of hearts, and for the future of every Ukrainian. We express our condolences to the relatives and close ones, we sincerely share the pain of the loss and bow our heads in deep sorrow!" - stated on the community website. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Mykhailo was awaited by his mother Tetiana and father Oleh, sisters Olena, Valentyna, and Mariia, fiancée Anna, a large family, and friends.
