- Serviceman Mykhailo Steblyno was killed on May 10, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Starytsia, Kharkiv region. The defender was 33 years old. Mykhailo was born in Zaporizhzhia. In 2010, he came to work at the railway as a rolling stock repair mechanic at the Zaporizhzhia Electric Multiple Unit Depot of the Prydniprovska Railway regional branch. Later, he became an electric train driver's assistant. He loved rock music and computer strategy games. Before the full-scale invasion, he went to study to become a locomotive driver. He dreamed of assembling a motorcycle himself, but did not have time... Together with his wife Svitlana, he raised their son Bohdan. The family had a warm and trusting relationship. On March 29, 2022, the man voluntarily went to defend the Motherland. He held the position of platoon commander. He was awarded the medal "For the Liberation of the Kharkiv Region". "My husband never betrayed his soul, said what he thought. He avoided disputes and clarification of relationships. Sometimes I would say something in a fit, and he would just smile in response. He always tried to do everything right, even perfectly. In his dealings with people, he was restrained, and he was close friends only with those who shared his interests and views. Mykhailo made the decision to go as a volunteer on his own, without consulting anyone, just presented it as a fact. None of the relatives dared to object, because they knew it was futile. Even at 'zero' he did not lose his usual composure and sense of humor. He called the front line a 'resort', although I understood well that it was real hell there. His comrades-in-arms greatly respected Mykhailo, they said that even wounded, he did not leave the unit, but continued to command the battle. He took on the most difficult, seemingly impossible tasks, and in extreme situations he was calm and focused, always thinking about his comrades," his wife said. "Mykhailo was quick at work, not lazy, he grasped the science on the fly, listened to the words of more experienced drivers. However, he could also give a good advice to his older colleagues, look at the problem from a 'fresh' perspective and suggest an unconventional solution," added Kostiantyn Zubkov, Mykhailo's partner and godfather of his son, a driver from the Zaporizhzhia Electric Multiple Unit Depot. The warrior left behind a wife and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
