Mykhailo V. Voziian (Hvozd)

36-year-old junior sergeant Mykhailo Voziian (call sign Nail) died on October 18, 2023 in a Kyiv hospital. 10 days prior, he sustained severe shrapnel wounds while carrying out a combat mission in the area of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Mykhailo was from Voznesensk, Mykolaiv region. He had a secondary education and worked as a construction worker. He was passionate about dogs and bred pit bulls. In 2015-2016, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. When the full-scale war began, he joined the military as a reservist in the first days and again defended his country. He served in the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, holding the position of grenade launcher assistant. Together with his comrades, he defended the Donetsk region. On April 6, 2023, during the performance of his duties, he sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. After recovering, he returned to service, but not for long, as on May 20, 2023, he sustained another gunshot shrapnel wound to the elbow joint and right shin. But this did not break him! While undergoing treatment and rehabilitation, his daughter was born, who, unfortunately, will not remember her father. But we will do everything possible so that she knows and remembers that her father is a Hero... Eternal memory to our hero. We know that he will always be with us, he will be our angel, especially for our girls, - wrote the wife of the fallen Yulia. Mykhailo was buried in his hometown. He is survived by his mother, wife, and two daughters. The paratrooper was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
