Mykola O. Aleksyk

29-year-old senior soldier Mykola Alexyk (call sign Bur) was killed on December 16, 2023 in battle on the territory of the Serebryansky forestry in Luhansk region. During a mortar shelling, a shell fragment hit between the helmet and body armor of the warrior. The injury was fatal. Mykola was born in the village of Velyki Komiaty, Zakarpattia region. He lived in Lviv. During his school years, he was engaged in ballroom dancing at a professional level at the "Rondo" sports dance school. After school, he obtained a higher education at the Lviv State University of Life Safety. In 2019, he completed the "Impro Theater Workshop", and in 2021 - the Ukrainian Film School. He planned to become a producer. At the same time, he moved to Kyiv, where he worked for the "Global-Logistics" company. After the start of the full-scale invasion, Mykola went to serve as a volunteer. As part of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade of the NGU "Azov", he carried out combat missions in the southern and eastern directions. During his service, he filmed materials for a future documentary film about the fight against the Russians. He also had sketches of a comedy entertainment show that Mykola planned to shoot in peacetime. Mykola was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. He is survived by his mother, grandmother, other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms. The "Azov" soldier was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
