- Soldier Mykola Borzov (call sign Borzyi) was killed on August 31, 2022, during the assault on enemy positions near the settlement of Pisky in the Donetsk region. On August 8, the defender turned 53 years old. Mykola was from the city of Alatyr (Russia). When he was 10 years old, he moved with his family to the city of Nizhyn in the Chernihiv region. There he graduated from the 8th grade of gymnasium No. 3. Later, the family settled in the Donetsk region. In the city of Yenakiieve, he graduated from school and obtained the profession of a welder at the vocational school No. 81. He worked as a miner, later as a construction worker. He was interested in the history of his region and played the guitar. When the full-scale war began, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In June 2022, he became a fighter of the 21st separate motorized infantry battalion "Sarmat" of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade. He took the position of a rifleman-medic and went to the front line. "My husband was a hardworking person, a jack-of-all-trades. He was very decent and had a great passion for life. The sons were left without a father and the family home in the village of Lozove in the Donetsk region, which was completely destroyed by the Russian invaders. The elder son Oleksiy serves in the 4th brigade of special purpose, he is the head of the medical unit of the battalion. The middle one, Nikita, is a student at the Cherkasy Institute of Fire Safety named after the Heroes of Chornobyl, the younger Markos is a schoolboy who dreams of becoming a military man. The father raised real men, patriots who serve Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, who want to perpetuate the memory of their father, to pass on to new generations of Ukrainians the names of those who fought for their future," said Natalia Borzova. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory in the city of Nizhyn in the Chernihiv region. Mykola is survived by his wife and three sons.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
