- Born on September 10, 1977, in the urban-type settlement of Luhyny in the Luhynskyi district of the Zhytomyr region, in a family of a serviceman. From 1984 to 1987, he studied at secondary school No. 1 in the urban-type settlement of Luhyny. In 1987, due to his father's transfer to a new military service location, the family moved to the village of Lypnyky in the Luhynskyi district of the Zhytomyr region. In 1994, he graduated from the general education school in the village of Lypnyky. Since August 1994, he has been in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On September 18, 1994, he took the Military Oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine. On June 27, 1998, he graduated from the Military Institute of Artillery at Sumy State University (city of Sumy). From June 27 to July 31, 1998, he was assigned to the Commander of the Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From July 31, 1998, to May 25, 2000, he served as the commander of the control platoon of the howitzer artillery battery, from May 25 to July 25, 2000 - commander of the control platoon of the mortar battery, from July 25, 2000, to April 25, 2003 - commander of the howitzer artillery battery of the 315th Guards Mechanized Red Banner Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Regiment of the 128th Guards Mechanized Turkestan-Transcarpathian Twice Red Banner Division of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (disbanded in 2003, military unit A1034, city of Berehove, Transcarpathian region). From April 25, 2003, to November 20, 2004, he was the commander of the anti-tank platoon of the fire support company of the 820th Guards Rechytsky Red Banner Orders of Suvorov and Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Mechanized Regiment of the 128th Guards Mechanized Turkestan-Transcarpathian Twice Red Banner Division of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1673, city of Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region). From November 20, 2004, to July 27, 2005, he served as the assistant head of the personnel and mobilization department of the headquarters, from July 27, 2005, to December 20, 2012, he was the deputy head of the mobilization department of the staff of the 21st Separate Guards Mechanized Rechytsky Orders of the Red Banner, Suvorov and Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Battalion of the 128th Separate Guards Mechanized Turkestan-Transcarpathian Twice Red Banner Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1673, city of Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region). From December 20, 2012, to April 11, 2013, he was the commander of the platoon - senior officer of the mortar battery of the mechanized battalion, from April 11, 2013, he was the commander of the anti-tank artillery battery of the 128th Separate Guards Mountain Infantry Turkestan-Transcarpathian Twice Order of the Red Banner Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1556, city of Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region). Since September 1, 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On January 25, 2015, Captain Zhuk was killed during assault actions when the vehicle he was in was blown up by a mine in the area of the village of Novohryhorivka in the Artemivsk (since 2016 - Bakhmut) district of Donetsk region near the city of Debaltseve in Donetsk region.
