- Born on July 30, 1993, in the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region. In 2009, he graduated from the 9th grade of secondary school No. 10 in Nizhyn, then attended the Nizhyn Professional Agricultural Lyceum and obtained the profession of "Automobile Repair Technician, Driver of Motor Vehicles, Electric Welder." From May 21, 2012, to April 25, 2013, he served in the 191st training center (military unit A4591, Sevastopol), the 501st separate mechanized battalion (military unit A0669, Kerch, Autonomous Republic of Crimea), as well as in the position of senior gunner of the anti-tank gun in the 36th separate coastal defense brigade of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2320, the village of Perevalne, Simferopol district, Autonomous Republic of Crimea). He worked as a security guard at the "Metrogard" shopping center in Kyiv. On August 3, 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 128th separate guards mountain infantry Turkestan-Zakarpattia twice awarded the Order of the Red Banner brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1556, Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region). From September 1, 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On January 25, 2015, senior sailor Tkachenko was killed during assault actions when the vehicle he was in was blown up by a mine in the area of the village of Novohryhorivka, Artemivsk (since 2016 - Bakhmut) district of Donetsk region, near the city of Debaltseve, Donetsk region. Along with him, Captain Zhuk and soldier Holota were killed. On January 29, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery on Myhalivska Street in Nizhyn. On May 8, 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the city of Nizhyn on the facade of secondary school No. 10 (Moscow Street, 54), where Ruslan Tkachenko studied.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
