- Lieutenant Mykyta Sovinsky (call sign Fox) was killed on January 11, 2023 near the city of Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region while carrying out a combat mission. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he came under mortar fire from the occupiers. Fox was forever 26 years old. Mykyta was born and lived in Kyiv. He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Heat Power Engineering of the National Technical University "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky". There he also obtained a second higher education - he stuwas killed by correspondence at the Institute of Applied System Analysis. He worked as an engineer in an oil and gas company. He was passionate about history - in his school years he won prizes at the competitions of the Small Academy of Sciences. He was a good artist, fluent in English, read a lot, and loved watching the classics of world cinema. From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, Mykyta decided to defend his homeland. At first, he served in the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk, and later - in the 1st battalion of the 56th separate motorized infantry Mariupol brigade. He was the commander of the anti-aircraft missile platoon. He defended the settlement of Nevelske in the Donetsk region, where he commanded a platoon support point. After the rotation, he was sent to the Zaporizhzhia direction, to the city of Huliaipole, where he was killed. "Mykyta will forever remain in our hearts as a cheerful kind man. He loved life and rushed to comprehend everything unknown and interesting to him. He was devoted to friends and family, had a great sense of responsibility. Duty was always his top priority," wrote the warrior's father, Vitaliy Dmytrovych. The officer was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Berkovetsky cemetery in his native Kyiv. Mykyta is survived by his parents, two younger sisters, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
