- Junior Sergeant Oleh Timonin (call sign Starshyna) was killed on May 21, 2023 near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during an enemy air strike. The following month, on June 25, the warrior would have turned 53 years old. Oleh was born in the city of Ostroh, Rivne region. However, he lived in Kyiv. He graduated from the M.P. Drahomanov State University with a degree in "Defectology and Oligophrenopedagogy". In peacetime, he worked as the director of PE "Rykhta", which dealt with fire-fighting, rescue and protective equipment. In his free time, he loved to read and do sports. In particular, he was passionate about mountain tourism. With the start of the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of volunteers to defend the capital. He served in the 241st separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of commander of the reconnaissance platoon's reconnaissance squad. The soldier received the awards "For Exemplary Service", "For Wounds", the certificate "For Merits" and posthumously - the Order of Courage of the III degree. "He was a wise and strong man. A man with a capital letter, who was trusted by many people. He was a wonderful father for his children - daughter Maria and son Roman, he cared about their future. When he went to war, I was very afraid of losing him, but I always understood and supported him, because I saw how important it was for him. That's why I refused the offers to leave the country, because I wanted to be with him. Oleh was a deeply motivated person who really wasn't afraid to die... There was a very strong mental connection between us. From the moment he carried out his tasks in eastern Ukraine and at the beginning of the invasion of Kyiv, our communication was often limited to one important and short SMS or emoji... On May 21 at 7:48 am he contacted me for the last time and said: "My darling, I love you"... These were the words he said before going on a mission. That same day he was killed... He was considered missing, but I already knew that he had was killed," said the wife of the fallen Hanna. Oleh was buried at the Berkovets cemetery in Kyiv. The defender left behind his wife Hanna, daughter Maria and son Roman.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
