- Soldier Oleg Golomoz was killed on March 14, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Koshove in the Dnipropetrovsk region. During a clash with the enemy, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery shelling. In five months, the warrior would have celebrated a milestone — his 50th birthday. Oleg Golomoz was born in the village of Udachne in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He was loved unconditionally throughout his life. He stu at vocational school No. 2 in Dnipropetrovsk, where he continued to live after getting married. He enjoyed active recreation and loved playing checkers and backgammon. He had about 10 certificates for parachute jumps and as many scuba diving certifications. Since 1993, he had been a blood and component donor, always sincerely hoping that his actions would save someone's life and improve their health. In 2009, he received a certificate as an Honored Donor. For about 30 years, Oleg worked at the Interpipe Niko Tube company, and six months before the invasion, he planned to celebrate his retirement. He was a metal heater in the rolling mill section. Managers remember Oleg as responsible, while colleagues describe him as someone who always came to help. When the full-scale war began, he refused the exemption provided by the company and voluntarily went to the front. After his last work shift on February 26, 2022, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 60th Separate Mechanized Ingulets Brigade. He held the rank of sergeant. Together with his comrades, he carried out combat missions on the border of Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions. In mid-March, communication with him was lost. Two months later, Oleg's death was confirmed. “He is my hero for life. The best man in the world. All the most important qualities of a true man were instilled in him. Our hero forever,” said the soldier's wife, Tetiana. “He was very sociable and sincere. He could not tolerate rudeness and hypocrisy, stood for justice, and sought to change the world for the better through his actions. An extraordinary person! I didn't know anyone who loved everything around him so much. I would describe him with the word 'dedicated.' It seemed he was never afraid of anything. There was never a time when I felt safer than with Dad. He joked a lot and loved to take risks, was open to new experiences. Very wise and intelligent — it seemed he knew the answers to all questions. I often recall his words about the feeling of an unfulfilled debt; this troubled Dad long before the war. His actions on the morning of February 26, 2022, were measured. He informed us that he was going to defend his homeland just 10 minutes before leaving. He said: ‘I cannot watch what the occupiers are doing on our land. I don't want children to fight for me.' He reassured us from the front, not wanting to cause us worry. His last message was: ‘Hello, I'm doing fine. Right now, there are communication issues, possibly for a long time, I will call back if I can.' He encouraged us to be aware, taught us to appreciate and notice the best in everything we have. He loved Ukraine and emphasized that we should communicate in the state language. The best husband, father, friend, and true son of Ukraine,” said his daughter Iryna. “He was the strongest man I knew. Even in the most difficult situations, he never lost heart. He supported us and decisively found a way out of every situation. It seemed there was nothing he couldn't do around the house. He taught us everything we needed for life and instilled the most important values — kindness and morality. He tried to help everyone in need, with no benefit for himself. I was the happiest person in the world while he was with us,” added his son Serhiy. Oleg Golomoz was buried at the Alley of Defenders of Ukraine in the Krasnopil Cemetery in Dnipro. At home, his wife, son, daughter, relatives, and friends were waiting for him.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
