- Captain Oleg Tsybenko was killed in action on March 16, 2022, during the defense of Chernihiv region. An enemy air strike cut short the life of the military man near the village of Honcharivske. The defender was 53 years old. Oleg was born in the city of Pryluky, Chernihiv region. He stu at local school No. 1. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming a military man. In 1985, he graduated from the Leningrad Military Academy. In 1989, he graduated from the Sumy Higher Artillery Command School. Three years later, he was discharged into the reserves. Until 2014, he was engaged in entrepreneurial activity. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began, the man joined the TRO unit, which later became the 41st territorial defense battalion "Chernihiv-2." As part of this unit, Oleg participated in the ATO in Donbas. Since 2016, he served in the 1st separate tank Siver Brigade, holding the position of commander of the repair company of the RAO. With the start of the full-scale invasion, Oleg in the ranks of the 1st brigade defended his native Chernihiv region from Russian invaders. "My father was the meaning of my life. Time has passed since his death, but this pain will never go away. Father defended Ukraine since 2014. His comrades and personnel were the first and most important for him. Everyone should get out of hell and survive. He had very little left until retirement. He had one dream, he often said: 'I just want to live. I want to have a coffee in the morning, go for a walk. Like an ordinary person. Without war, without that pain when you lose your comrades. Just to live.' We could never have thought that such a simple desire, such a simple dream would become unattainable," said Zhanna Kaminska. "A kind and good person, a good friend, our brave defender. Eternal memory, sincere condolences to the relatives," wrote the deceased's classmate, Lyudmila Horban. "He was a true defender, kind, sensitive, fair. He protected his subordinates, was always with them in positions. Eternal memory," wrote Oleg's acquaintance, Olga Kulyk. The officer was buried in his hometown. Oleg left behind his father, brother, daughter, and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
