Biography
Oleh Serhiyovych Hychko was born on April 10, 1996, in the city of Novograd-Volynsky (now Zviaghel) in the Zhytomyr region, in a family of military personnel. He studied at the Zviaghel Lyceum No. 4. He graduated from the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny. He served in the 30th separate mechanized brigade. In March 2017, he went to Eastern Ukraine, where within a few months he proved his professionalism in artillery competitions. Then, Junior Lieutenant Hychko received the rank of best fire platoon commander. For this, he was awarded the honorary badge "For Achievements in Military Service" of the II degree. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the artillery battery of Captain Oleh Hychko participated in battles near the city of Bakhmut, later liberated Izium and returned to the old positions of Eastern Ukraine. He was killed on September 17, 2022, near the village of Bila Hora in the Donetsk region. He was buried in his hometown. He is survived by his wife, parents, and sister.Burial place
