- Senior soldier Oleksandr Serhiyenko (call signs LSD, Jesus) was killed on September 9, 2022, near the village of Mazanivka in Donetsk region. A group of Ukrainian soldiers came under mortar fire while evacuating an injured comrade from the gray zone. Oleksandr sustained fatal injuries. He was 30 years old at the time of his death. Oleksandr was born and lived in Kyiv. He graduated from the Instrument Engineering Faculty of the National University of "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky." Since 2014, he worked as a programmer at Netcracker. He was a master of sports in rowing. He was passionate about historical literature, the history of Ukraine, and the national liberation movement of the 20th century, and he planned to obtain a second higher education and write a scientific dissertation on this topic. He wrote articles for Wikipedia in Ukrainian. He loved computer games and mini-football. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since May 2022, he served in the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Konstantin Ostrogskiy. "Two days before the start of the full-scale invasion, Sashko was already in contact with the commander and preparing for mobilization in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (he had previously served his conscription in 2016). During a short vacation, Sashko managed to take the external independent assessment (ZNO). This was the first step towards his long-held dream of obtaining a second higher education at the History Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and writing scientific papers. Sashko was an incredible person. Handsome, smart, devoted, and brave, a true patriot of Ukraine. Before the full-scale invasion, we traveled a lot; my husband went on business trips to Canada, but we saw our future in Ukraine. There were so many plans and dreams; it seemed like there was a whole life ahead. But the war took Sashko away forever. My husband is a true Hero to me. I am proud of him and want his memory to live on," said the wife of the fallen, Yana. Oleksandr was buried at the Lisove Cemetery in his native Kyiv. He is survived by his parents and wife. Posthumously, the defender was awarded the medal "Honor. Glory. State."Memory Platform 'Memorial'
