- 26-year-old captain Oleksandr Tymchenko (call sign Phobos) was killed on August 27, 2022, near the village of Verkhnyokamyanske in the Donetsk region. While performing a combat mission, the officer received fatal injuries during an enemy artillery shelling of Ukrainian soldiers' positions. Oleksandr was born in the village of Kryzhopil, Vinnytsia region. In 2011-2013, he stu at the Kamianets-Podilskyi Lyceum of Military and Physical Training. In 2017, he graduated from the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny in Lviv. He constantly improved his knowledge of military affairs. In 2017, the young officer began his military service in the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He served in a self-propelled artillery division. Initially, he was the commander of the battery, and later became the commander of the reactive artillery battery of the reactive artillery division. He took part in the ATO / OOS in Donbas. Since January 31, 2022, he held the position of deputy commander for artillery of the 2nd mechanized battalion. was killed "He is our only child, our universe, our Hero, our pride! Always smiling, positive, never complaining that it's hard for him. He had one answer for everyone: 'Everything will be fine. We won't give up without a fight'. It's incredibly hard... Our dearest son in the whole world! He had many plans for the future. Pain... An incredible pain that becomes heavier with each passing day," said the officer's mother, Lyudmyla. "Oleksandr was a true patriot of Ukraine, an unbreakable Warrior of Light who defended the freedom and independence of our Motherland, a Ukrainian artilleryman, they are called 'Gods of War'. And he proved it on the front line, having captured an enemy tank. At the age of 26, Phobos was an example for his subordinates, he was loved and respected, he was a faithful friend and one of those unbreakable and desperate warriors on whom our nation stands. A small son was left without a father, parents were left without their only son, our brigade was orphaned without a commander," wrote comrades and sisters from the 54th OMB. Oleksandr was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents, wife, son, relatives, friends, and comrades.
