- Sergeant Oleksandr Kinakh (call sign Kim) died on April 5, 2024 in a hospital in Dnipro. On April 1, while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast, he sustained severe injuries while trying to save the life of a fellow soldier. Oleksandr was 49 years old. He was born in the city of Dubno, Rivne Oblast. He studied at the Rivne State University of Humanities, and was a professional director. In 2015-2016, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). Recently, he worked as a long-haul truck driver in Europe. During the full-scale invasion, he again took up the defense of the Motherland, joining the ranks of the 68th Separate Jager Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. He held the position of unit commander. He was awarded the "Participant of the ATO" badge, a distinction from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the "Cross of Valor" medal, the President of Ukraine's award "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation", and the honorary "Wolverine" beret. "From birth, I was given a survival coach. For me, you were both an instructor in various techniques against militants, a trainer in the game of survival, a master of manipulation, and, of course, an older brother who needs to be listened to. No one has ever touched me, because the formidable older brother was always nearby. Of course, we quarreled, declared war on each other, got into trouble, even life-threatening ones. But we knew that we had each other. No one can replace us for each other. And even now. My brother sincerely loved Ukraine, fought for it, and gave his life for it. His path is like a book of adventures. His ability to maintain a positive attitude in the face of setbacks is amazing. He was impossible to stop, because he was not afraid of failures. He very rarely allowed himself to rest. He is my eternal happy place," wrote his sister Natalia. The warrior was buried on the Alley of Glory in Ostrog. Oleksandr is survived by his wife, son, daughter, parents, and sister.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
