- 29-year-old Senior Sergeant Oleksandr Antonenko was killed on October 6, 2022 near the village of Zvanivka in Donetsk region. He was driving to evacuate the wounded and came under enemy missile fire. Shrapnel pierced all the fighter's organs, and the injuries were fatal. Oleksandr was born in the village of Mezhova, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Avdiivka Railway College. He settled in Zaporizhzhia. He worked as a driver of a thermal locomotive. He was passionate about cars - it was his biggest hobby, he loved tinkering with them, he could do it day and night. In 2014-2018, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, holding the position of mechanic-driver. In 2019, he was transferred to a military unit in Zaporizhzhia, where he was engaged in the repair of military equipment returning from the combat zone. In 2021, he was discharged from the army. During the full-scale war, Oleksandr was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine again. He underwent training in Kyiv. Later, he fought for his country as part of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Ivan Mazepa. He held the position of mechanic-driver. Together with his comrades, he defended Donetsk region. "My brother was always a kind, cheerful and bright person. He always lent a helping hand, no matter what they asked him for... I'm very sorry I couldn't help him. I miss him very much..." said Darya Zhurenko. The warrior was buried in the village of Matviyivka, Zaporizhzhia region. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, sister, brother and wife.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
