- Sergeant Oleksandr Mazur died on May 28, 2024 in the area of the village of Tykhe in the Kharkiv region. In the battle with the occupiers, he came under artillery fire and suffered fatal injuries. The defender is now forever 29 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Novomykolaivka, Mykolaiv region. He lived with his family in the village of Vozsiiatske. He received a complete secondary education. He began military service when he came of age. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation as part of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army. He was interested in history and had a collection of ancient coins. He was fond of sports, fishing, and hunting. During the full-scale invasion, he served in the 129th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of commander of the reconnaissance and adjustment section of the unmanned aerial systems of the assault battalion "Arey". He defended the Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Kharkiv regions. During the war, he was studying law at the National Academy of Internal Affairs, but did not have time to complete his studies. During his service, the military was awarded the badges "For Exemplary Service", "Arey", "For the Assault" of the 35th separate brigade of the marine corps, the award "For the Defense of Kryvyi Rih", the award of the 129th separate Kryvyi Rih brigade of territorial defense, the medal "For Bravery in Battle", the "Knight's Cross of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army", and the Order of Courage of the III degree (posthumously). "My brother was faithful to Ukraine, brave, courageous, a true hero. I am proud of my brother," said the deceased's sister Victoria. The warrior was buried in the village of Vozsiiatske in the Mykolaiv region. At home, Oleksandr was awaited by his mother, two sisters, wife, and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
