- Soldier Oleksandr Stolyarchuk (call sign Motyl) was killed in battle on May 8, 2024 near the village of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. The warrior was 38 years old. Oleksandr was from the Kharkiv region. He graduated from the 9th grade at Lozova Secondary School No. 10 of I-III levels, then transferred to school No. 11. He obtained a higher education at the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport, majoring in "Railway Structures and Track Facilities". He was interested in technology and loved football. In civilian life, he initially worked as a track fitter at the Kharkiv Track Section of Ukrzaliznytsia. After three years, he became a 5th-grade foreman for current maintenance and repair of tracks and artificial structures. In the summer of 2023, Oleksandr decided to defend his homeland. He held the position of senior rifleman of the 2nd airborne assault platoon of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. Colleagues remember that the man was not afraid of any work. In the first days of the great war, he restored tracks after explosions in dangerous areas. "At work, Oleksandr was an example for everyone. He will forever remain in our memory as a model of courage and love for Ukraine. His concern and dedication to work inspired everyone. He willingly took on the most difficult tasks and masterfully performed them, despite the difficulties. At the same time, he never complained about the hard work of the track worker, because the railway was his calling," shared the memories of his colleague Viacheslav Veklenko, the track master, who had worked side by side with Oleksandr Stolyarchuk for many years. The soldier was buried in the central cemetery in the city of Lozova. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, brothers, sister, wife and children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
