Oleksandr V. Dzhuraiev

Soldier Oleksandr Dzhuraiev (call sign Lecha) was killed on February 27, 2024, in the Krasnohorivka area in Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar shelling. The defender was 31 years old. Oleksandr was from the village of Oleksandrivka, Kharkiv region. He studied at the local Ivan Buryak secondary school. Then he obtained the profession of a cook-confectioner at the Kharkiv Vocational College. Most of his life he worked in his profession in Bulgaria, his last place of work was Slobozhanska Technological Company. He was passionate about computer games and sports, especially football, which he loved to play. During the full-scale war, in August 2023, the man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended his Homeland in the ranks of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He held the position of an operator of the anti-tank missile systems platoon of the fire support unit. "Oleksandr was a good boy. From childhood, he loved animals very much, he never took offense, he was always able to come to the aid of anyone who asked. He dreamed that he and we would have the best future. He really wanted to go to his grandmother in Tashkent... No one can say anything bad about him, because he was as bright as the sun and always smiled at everyone. His comrades-in-arms say that he was one of the best," his sister Alina said. Oleksandr was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents, sister and brother. The paratrooper was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd degree.
