- 38-year-old soldier Oleksandr Havlovskyi (call sign Play) was killed on May 20, 2024 near the village of Umanske in the Donetsk region. In the battle with the enemy, he received fatal shrapnel wounds, covering his comrades from a grenade. Oleksandr was born in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. He studied at school No. 41. Then he graduated from the mining technical school of the Kryvyi Rih Technical University with a specialty in "Underground mining of minerals". During this time, he also worked in the security service of the Central Mining and Processing Plant. He underwent industrial practice in his specialty at the Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant, holding the position of an underground miner at section No. 12 of the Ternivska mine. Later, he was a trainee driver, a mining foreman at section No. 46 of the Ternivska mine. Since 2009, he has held the position of electric locomotive driver at section No. 16 of the Kryvorizka mine. Then he was transferred to the position of blaster at section No. 16. During the full-scale war, the man became a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade, holding the position of a sniper-rifleman. "I loved and love my husband very much. He was truly a hero, he saved many of his comrades. I am very proud of him," said Viktoria Havlovska. The paratrooper was buried on the Alley of Heroes of the Central Cemetery in his hometown. Oleksandr is survived by his mother, wife, two sons, a stepson, a brother, and a goddaughter. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
