Biography
Kovalchuk Oleksandr Viktorovych was born on December 7, 1978, in the village of Pesets, Novousytskyi district, Khmilnytskyi region. He studied at the Pesets eight-year school and the Otrokiv secondary school. He lost his parents at an early age. He played for the local football team, which repeatedly won championships at various levels. After finishing his studies, he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the tank troops. Returning home, he worked as a tractor driver on agricultural enterprises. In recent years, he worked at the Astra Plus farm. With the beginning of the full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, he was called up in the first wave of mobilization. After spending one night in one of the military units, Oleksandr Kovalchuk was immediately sent to the front line. He was killed on April 11, 2022, during combat operations in the village of Novozlatopil, Hulyaipilskyi district, Zaporizhzhia region. Oleksandr Kovalchuk was buried on April 16, 2022, in his native village of Pesets in the Khmilnytskyi region.Burial place

- Soldier Oleksandr Kovalchuk died on April 11, 2022 near the village of Novozlatopil, Zaporizhia region. In the battle with the occupiers, he received a fatal shrapnel wound. The warrior was 44 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Pesetz, Khmilnytskyi region. He studied at Pesetz and Otrokivka secondary schools. He served in the regular army. He worked as a mechanic at various enterprises in his native village. He loved sports, especially football, and fishing. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 3rd separate tank brigade. He held the position of tank commander. "He very much loved his daughters, had many friends, and godparents. He loved to work on the land. All his life he worked as a tractor driver, cultivated the land. He was a real master in his house, but the damned war took away from me the best husband, and from the daughters - the best dad in the world," the fallen defender's wife said. The tank man was buried in his native village. At home, Oleksandr was awaited by his wife Larysa and two daughters: Iryna and Viktoriia. Oleksandr Kovalchuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. On November 5, 2023, a memorial plaque was opened to the hero in his native village.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
