Oleksandr V. Ostapenko

Soldier Oleksandr Ostapenko was killed on January 25, 2023 in combat with the occupiers near the village of Yampolivka in the Donetsk region. He was 30 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Borova, Kyiv region. He graduated from the local school. Then he obtained the profession of a computer typist. He was a security guard at a football club. Later he worked at the local enterprise "Merx". He was active and sociable. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man first stood to defend his native Borova as part of the local volunteer formation. And in the fall, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of an operator in the 92nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Koshovy Otaman Ivan Sirko. He took part in the defense of the Kharkiv region and then the Donetsk region. "My best brother! Farewell! Today you left this life. You went to fight for Ukraine. You gave your life for it. You heroically fell on the battlefield!!! For our bright future! We will remember you forever! Farewell. Rest in peace. I sincerely hope for our victory, because that's what you wanted. And you gave your life for it. I love you, I miss you," wrote his sister Svitlana Bubela. "I want everyone to remember you just like that! You gave everyone laughter and joy, you could with one word make everyone have fun! You were our bright sun! I love you," wrote Yulia Nevzglyedenko. The serviceman was buried in his native village. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, sister and nephews.
