- Soldier Oleksandr Tkach died on February 10, 2023 near the village of Nykyforivka, Donetsk region. While helping his wounded comrade-in-arms to get off the battlefield, he received fatal injuries during enemy tank and artillery shelling. The defender was 39 years old. The fighter was originally from the city of Kostopil, Rivne region. He graduated from the Kostopil Construction and Technology College, where he obtained the qualifications of a carpenter, builder, and carpenter. He worked in the construction industry and went to work abroad. Recently, he worked at a Kostopil enterprise producing blocks. In the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, Oleksandr actively assisted the local territorial defense. He participated in the arrangement of basement premises for shelter. After some time, he decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In August 2022, he was mobilized. He underwent training. From October 26, 2022, as part of the 46th separate airmobile brigade, he took part in battles near Biloghirka, Kherson region, Ozarianivka, Klishchiyivka, Nykyforivka and Blahodatne, Donetsk region. He held the position of rifleman - grenade launcher assistant of the 2nd airmobile platoon of the 1st airmobile company of the 1st airmobile battalion. "Oleksandr was brave and courageous. He always helped everyone who needed it. Wherever Sasha was, there was always laughter, he loved to joke a lot. He had a lot of plans and dreams that he unfortunately did not have time to realize. He said: 'I cannot stay at home, many very young guys went to war, my place is also there.' He tried his best to get into the airborne troops, and his dream came true. On December 31, 2022, there was a very terrible battle, from the entire group only Sasha and his comrade-in-arms survived, after which he was given a week's leave. A month after the leave, Sasha died," his wife Natalia said. Tkach was a super warrior, one of the best," said a comrade-in-arms. "Tkach was a good person, a kind, brave warrior, everyone took an example from him. His record with us has not yet been beaten by anyone, 30 RPG shots in one night," added another comrade-in-arms. The defender was buried in the "Nove" cemetery in Kostopil. Oleksandr Tkach is survived by his wife, son and mother.
