- Paratrooper Oleksandr Vasylenko (call sign Alien) was killed on July 12, 2023 near the settlement of Novoselivske in the Luhansk region. During the assault, he came under artillery fire and sustained multiple shrapnel wounds. The hero was forever 30 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Kalytynka, Vinnytsia region. He studied at the Technological and Industrial College of Vinnytsia National Agrarian University. From a young age, he was engaged in tennis and judo. He was a candidate for the title of Judo Master of Sports. He had many awards, medals, cups, and certificates. He was a motorcyclist. He was married and raised a son whom he adored. He lived with his family in Vinnytsia. His last job was at the "Avangard Distributing" company, where he held the position of dispatcher. During the full-scale war, Oleksandr joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 25th Separate Airborne Assault Sich Brigade. "Sasha was always courageous and brave, so he was one of the first to go on the assault, saying: 'Who, if not me? And how else?'" The last conversation with him was on July 10, when he heard his son's first word "dad" and said: "My son is a hero, and my wife is a model. Don't worry about me, you are my little angels who will protect me." His wife Alina still cannot believe it is true, she is looking for him in every face, went through such hell of searching, and believed until the last moment that she would embrace him alive... We are proud of him. He was very kind, sincere, and at the same time courageous and strong. His son is his little copy. He always said that I am strong, so I will do everything for my son, for us, so that he will smile at us from heaven and be proud of us..." The warrior was buried in his native village of Kalytynka. At home, his wife and son were waiting for Oleksandr. Posthumously, soldier Oleksandr Vasylenko was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
