- Born on June 4, 1993, in the urban-type settlement of Kulinichi, Kharkiv District, Kharkiv Oblast (since 2012 part of the Frunzensky District of the city of Kharkiv). Ukrainian. In 2011, he graduated from Kulinichi Secondary School No. 175 in Kharkiv. At the same time, he studied at the Kulinichi Inter-school Training and Production Combine No. 1 in the village of Vilkhivka, Kharkiv District, Kharkiv Oblast. From the fall of 2011, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior gunner of the mortar platoon of the mortar battery of the 13th separate airborne battalion of the 95th separate airborne brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1910, city of Zhytomyr). Since the spring of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On May 13, 2014, while performing a combat mission to convoy (escort) the crews of 82-mm mortars 2B-9 and supplies to checkpoints, on the outskirts of the village of Oktyabrskoye in the Sloviansk District of Donetsk Oblast, around 12:30 PM, the column was ambushed. Militants attacked with grenade launchers and opened heavy fire with small arms. More than 30-40 attackers had arrived in the ambush in advance and were positioned along the river in the bushes. The first shots from grenade launchers hit the engine of the second armored personnel carrier, which caught fire, and the GAZ-66 vehicle. The servicemen engaged in battle, resulting in the deaths of 6 servicemen and 8 sustaining injuries of varying severity. During this battle, senior soldier Yakymov was also killed. On May 16, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the former settlement of Kulinichi (territory of the Frunzensky District of the city of Kharkiv).Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
