Oleksandr Yu. Popadynets

Born on February 6, 1992, in the city of Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia region. In 2007, he graduated from the 9th grade of Uzhhorod Secondary School No. 15, then attended the Uzhhorod Professional Machine-Building Lyceum. From April 19, 2011, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 15th Separate Guards Mountain Infantry Sevastopol Battalion of the 128th Separate Guards Mountain Infantry Turkestan-Zakarpattia Red Banner Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1778, city of Uzhhorod). Since the spring of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On June 17, 2014, Junior Sergeant Popadynec was killed during a battle with Russian-terrorist groups near the village of Metalist in the Slovianoserbsk district of Luhansk region. Also in this battle, soldier Martyn and soldier Kuliya were killed. On June 21, 2014, he was buried on the Hill of Glory at the "Kalvaria" cemetery in the city of Uzhhorod.
