- Soldier Oleksandr Vasylshyn died in a hospital in Dnipro on June 14, 2022, from injuries sustained on May 23 during a battle near the village of Pokrovskoye in the Donetsk region. The defender is forever 30. Oleksandr was born in the village of Rozaliivka, Kyiv region. From childhood, he lived in Bila Tserkva. He stu at school No. 4. After classes, he attended a sports section for weightlifting. When he transferred to the 7th grade, he was invited to continue his studies at the Kyiv Regional Lyceum-Boarding School of Physical Culture and Sports as a talented athlete. He had numerous awards for winning sports competitions. Finishing the lyceum in 2009, he realized that he could not imagine his life without sports, so he entered the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine. In 2011, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After demobilization, he decided not to return to sports. In 2014, he graduated from the Kyiv Higher School of Railway Transport. The same year he got married, and six years later he became a father. To provide for his family, he was engaged in repairing apartments, houses, and non-residential premises. He had his own team. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on his own initiative and stood up to defend Ukraine. He served in the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. He held the position of gunner-air defense of the air defense missile platoon. Together with his comrades, he defended the Donetsk region, in particular the Bakhmut direction. "He gave his life so that we could live in a free and independent Ukraine. He was a true warrior, a man of his word, a man of courage, an example of unbreakability and strength of spirit. Courage, courage, honor - that's all about you. I will always remember you, I love you...", wrote his wife Nadia. The warrior was buried in his native village. Oleksandr left behind his parents, wife, and daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
