Oleksii M. Komarov

Born on September 23, 1973, in the city of Pyriatyn, Poltava region (according to other sources - in the city of Millerovo, Rostov region, Russia) in a military family. He graduated from high school. Since the early 1990s, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as the deputy commander of the battery of the 30th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, city of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region). Since May 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine. On February 12, 2015, Captain O.M. Komarov was killed in the area of the city of Debaltseve, Donetsk region, during a massive shelling of positions by Russian militants. On February 15, 2015, he was buried at the Veryhynske cemetery in the city of Hlukhiv, Sumy region.
