- Senior soldier Orest Kostetskyi was killed on March 6, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. The defender remained forever 30 years old. Orest was a native of Lviv. He studied at school No. 9. Then - at the "IT-Step University". He worked in various fields, recently engaged in design at the "SolipsLab" company. He was passionate about IT technologies, dreamed of creating UAVs for the military using 3D printing. In 2017-2021, he served under contract in the 36th separate marine brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. On February 24, 2022, Orest returned to the army. He fought in the ranks of the 80th separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was an FPV drone operator. In 2022, he was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree, in 2023 - the medal "For the Defense of Ukraine", in 2024, posthumously - the Order of Courage of the II degree. "Orest was a bright, kind and open guy. He had many plans for life and dreams. In November 2013, he went to Kyiv with other activists and was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity. In 2017, he volunteered for the 36th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynsky. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, he stood up for the Motherland. Orest was constantly in the zones of active combat operations. He was a devoted son of Ukraine, for its freedom he gave the most valuable - his life," said his aunt Natalia Kostetska. The paratrooper was buried in the Marsovoye Field of the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. Orest is survived by his mother, grandmother, brother with family, aunt, cousin, and nephews.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
