- Senior Lieutenant of the Medical Service, Ostap Levchuk, was killed in action on March 16, 2022, from a sniper's bullet during the evacuation of the wounded in the area of the village of Moschun, Kyiv region. He was 52 years old. Ostap was born in the village of Bratslav in Vinnytsia region in the family of future pediatricians. As a child, he was very talkative, cheerful, and easily made contact. In his later school years, the young man was still deciding what to become. In the end, Ostap and his two sisters also became doctors, like their parents. The boy entered the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University in Kyiv. After the 2nd year, he was drafted into the army. When he returned, he resumed his studies, choosing the specialty of an otolaryngologist, and completed his internship. Then he moved with his wife to Pereiaslav, where his whole family lived. He found a job at the district hospital. The man became interested in homeopathy. He constantly improved his qualifications, expanding his knowledge in Ukraine and abroad. He stu psychology and foreign languages. Although Ostap was an outpatient doctor, he always wanted to operate. However, there was no such opportunity in the hospital, so after ten years he decided to open a private practice. Ostap Levchuk participated in the Revolution of Dignity. During the shootings, he provided assistance to the wounded. Then he decided to go to the military enlistment office, but they refused him. The man traveled to the hospital to help the wounded soldiers from the ATO zone, constantly volunteering. On the second day of the full-scale invasion, February 25, 2022, Ostap again went to enlist in the army. This time they took him, and within two weeks he found himself in the combat zone in the northern outskirts of Kyiv, near the village of Moschun in the Bucha district. He saved military personnel and civilians. He calmly told his relatives over the phone: "Everything's okay, I'm working." The military doctor was buried in the city of Pereiaslav in Kyiv region. The whole city bid him farewell. Ostap left behind his mother, wife, son, and daughter. Senior Lieutenant Ostap Levchuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
