- Sergeant Pavlo Makhno (call sign Makhno) sustained serious injuries in the battle for the village of Velyka Komyshuvakha in the Kharkiv region. During the execution of a combat mission, a mine fell into the trench where he was located. For a year, the serviceman was considered missing, but then his relatives found out that the man had been evacuated. He underwent treatment in the hospitals of the villages of Lozove and Blyznіuky. And on April 17, 2022, a few kilometers short of the medical facility in Kharkiv, he died. Pavlo was 54 years old. He was born in the city of Dnipro. He studied at school No. 38, then obtained the profession of an electrician for the repair of electrical equipment. During his military service, he held the position of a driver-mechanic of an armored personnel carrier. In 2013, he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Training Center "Dniproagrotech-service", where he obtained the profession of a tractor-machine operator in agricultural production of category "A". For more than 20 years, he worked in the car market, and the last place of work of the man was a furniture factory. In his free time, he loved to read, adored going out with his family to nature, to the river. He baked cakes to order and also engaged in agriculture: he grew vegetables, wheat and sunflowers, dreamed of starting a pig, goose and chicken farm. He tried to grow everything without chemicals - this hobby became a solace for the man after participating in the anti-terrorist operation. In 2015, Pavlo was mobilized into the 39th Separate Mechanized Brigade, where he held the position of a grenade launcher. He took part in battles for Kostiantynivka, Shyroke, Veselie, Pisky, Avdiivka. On February 24, 2022, he again took up the defense of Ukraine, joining the ranks of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar". He was a gunner. He was awarded the "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation" badge and the Order of Courage III degree (posthumously). "He was a wonderful father. In childhood, he spent a lot of time with me: played, read books, cooked and engaged with me when my mother was getting a second profession. Dad even made a small playground from what he had: laid a sandbox, dug in wheels and made a few more entertainments. He built shacks in the yard. You could always come to him with any question, and he knew the answer. He took me with him everywhere he could. Dad was my best friend, I spent most of my life with him," Marharyta Makhno said. The defender was buried at the Krasnopilskyi cemetery in the city of Dnipro. Pavlo is survived by his parents, brother, wife and three children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
