- 42-year-old fighter Petro Mykoliuk (call sign Petruha, Klos) was killed on March 12, 2024 while performing a combat mission near the village of Uspeniivka in the Donetsk region. He sustained numerous shrapnel wounds incompatible with life as a result of an attack by the enemy's "Lancet". Petro was born and lived in the village of Panasivka in the Ternopil region. After finishing the 9th grade of school, he continued his studies at the Skalat Vocational and Technical Lyceum. There he obtained the qualifications of a driver and tractor operator. He worked as a tractor driver on a private farm in his native village. In 2017-2020, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) / Joint Forces Operation (JFO). In May 2022, Petro was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine again. Initially, he defended Ukraine as part of the 44th separate artillery brigade, where he was a senior driver. In July 2023, he was transferred to the 33rd separate mechanized brigade. There he held the position of driver, and later - senior mechanic-driver. "He was a good, sincere, cheerful and sociable guy. A skilled master, who could do everything. 'Who, if not me,' he always said to us when he called. The deceased brother invested a lot in these words, first of all, it was the protection of relatives, fellow villagers and the country as a whole. Being at the forefront, he never lost his sense of humor and optimism. Even now, his comrades-in-arms recall more than one of his jokes. An incident from the everyday life of a soldier: the calculation of comrades-in-arms was returning from duty and, while crossing the local river, the tractor with the artillery installation got stuck. The guys barely got out of the icy water, because it was late autumn 2023. Without thinking about his own health, Petro rushed to save the equipment. He got into the river and did what was needed to pull the tractor with the gun out, although he got sick himself, but the equipment was saved. He loved technology and often, when he called, he was deeply concerned that a lot of damaged agricultural machinery, destroyed property on farms, that a lot would have to be restored in our country. Petro went out more often than he should have, because he always said: 'I've already seen life, and in them, the young, it's just beginning.' Until his last breath, he was faithful to his oath and honorably fulfilled his military duty," said the deceased's cousin Halyna Rozmaita. Petro was buried in his native village. The deceased left behind a sister. A memorial plaque in his honor was installed on the wall of the village school.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
