- 27-year-old Petro Kyshenko (call sign Fox) died on April 28, 2024 near the village of Serhiivka in the Luhansk region. He was providing assistance to a severely wounded comrade when the enemy launched an artillery strike. Petro was born in the village of Dobrooleksandrivka, Odesa region. He graduated from the Odesa Regional Basic Medical College, obtaining the profession of paramedic. He then graduated from the Odesa National Medical University. Parallel to his studies, he worked as a hookah manager, SMM manager at a company that delivers cars from the USA, and managed his own small auto repair shop, repairing cars himself. Before the invasion, he worked as an intern-radiologist at the "USWHEELS" company. On February 25, 2022, on the second day of the full-scale war, the man became a fighter of the 122nd separate brigade of the territorial defense. He held the positions of machine gunner in the reconnaissance company, combat medic, and paramedic of the medical center. In February 2024, he was transferred to the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he took the position of a medical instructor. He received the "Honor Badge" award. The wife of the fallen defender shared her memories: "We met on August 29, 2016, when the MF-3 group was gathered for the first meeting with the dean. It was an interesting acquaintance, as the guy was cheerful, smart and witty in communication, and handsome. He called me "mademoiselle" and told our mutual friend that he wanted to transfer to my group because I was there. It made me laugh, because we had only known each other for 10 minutes. We laughed together, but a few weeks later, Petro and I started dating. We studied at the same college for 4 years, but I didn't see him, I saw him for the first time at the university. However, Petro had noticed me back then, as it turned out. He didn't know what kind of specialist he wanted to be. He said his goal was to become a chief physician. Parallel to his studies, he worked outside the medical field. He strived to achieve financial well-being and independence. Petro was always working. There was never a period when he was idle. This always motivated me to move forward as well. Petro was very developed in all areas. He could diagnose, install software, repair a car, prepare dinner, etc. Petya always came to help if asked (and even when not asked, but he saw that help was needed). It seems he never refused. I even said that he was too concerned with other people's problems. But that didn't stop him. Where help was needed, there he was. Resolving and solving any problem. I was with him as if behind the strongest wall that could not be broken by any blow. I was very proud that he was able to open his own car repair business from scratch, being a 5th-year student. Petya confidently went to his goal, despite the obstacles that could arise before him. When something didn't go according to plan, he got angry, but still achieved his goal. I wanted to live life with him. We made each other better, made each other's lives full. We were good together. But the war started, and our plans for a wedding, children, and a house by the sea were destroyed. Petya volunteered on February 25, 2022. He didn't want to live under the flag of the occupier. He lived and acted the way he wanted the country and the people to live. At every opportunity, he hurried home to me. He wanted to see the people he loved. He tried to find time to see as many friends as possible during the short time he was home. In my heart, he will forever remain my beloved husband, faithful friend, interesting person, worthy man and protector, my whole universe, my pride. We were together for 7 years, 7 months and 12 days. It was a great, sincere love. His death is my pain that will never go away, a wound that will not heal..." The hero was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents Volodymyr Vitaliyovych and Larysa Petrivna, and his wife Olha.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
