Roman L. Chumak

Soldier Roman Chumak was killed in action on March 14, 2022, during a hostile rocket attack on the television tower building in the village of Antopol in Rivne Oblast. The warrior was due to turn 30 years old in April. Roman was born in the village of Symoniv in Rivne Oblast. In 2009, he graduated from Hoshchanska School and enrolled in the faculty of training personnel of the criminal police at the Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. In June 2013, he received a basic higher education in the field of "Jurisprudence." That same year, he began service in the internal affairs bodies of the Rivne UMVS, holding the position of an operative. He then enrolled in the National Academy of Internal Affairs for distance learning. In May 2016, he obtained a master's degree in the field of "Jurisprudence" and the qualification of a lawyer. From the first days of the full-scale war, Roman voluntarily went to the military enlistment office. He was later mobilized into the ranks of the 15th Separate Battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine, holding the position of a squad commander of the rifle platoon for the protection and defense of the facility. "Roman was a life-loving person, a wonderful family man, and had many friends. He loved good company, sang well, was fond of fishing, and loved life immensely. He was a good friend, ready to help, with a sincere heart and soul. Everyone who knew Roman was amazed by his energy. In 2015, he directly participated in the ATO in the city of Volnovakha, Donetsk Oblast," said the warrior's wife, Oksana. The defender was buried in his native village. Roman's parents and wife were waiting for him at home. Posthumously, Soldier Roman Chumak was awarded the Order of "Courage" III degree.
