- Senior soldier Roman Andriichuk (call sign Lumus) was killed on November 12, 2023, in the territory of the Serebriansk forestry, in the area of the village of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during an enemy mortar attack. The warrior is now forever 18 years old. Roman was from the city of Kyiv. He graduated from specialized school No. 246 with a gold medal and in-depth study of the English language. In 2012-2019, he played for the Desna football club and also attended a boxing section. After graduating from school, he entered the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky", majoring in Computer Science. In the 1st year, in the spring of 2023, the young man voluntarily joined the ranks of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov". He held the position of senior mechanic-driver. "My son was very kind, compassionate, fair and restrained, prudent, always helping everyone and in everything, conscientiously approached every matter. He always went to his set goal, had many plans for the future, loved life very much! A true patriot of our state! The best son in the world! He was a support and role model for many, he was unbroken and strong in spirit, a sincere and incredibly kind person, a true patriot of Ukraine! While in the areas of active hostilities, he never complained that it was difficult for him or that he needed something, despite his still such a young age. He always said: 'Mom, I'm doing well and I have everything.' He protected..." - said Yulia Bondar, the mother of the fallen. "From the first day of our acquaintance, every day, regardless of the situation, without fear in your eyes, you demonstrated calmness, confidence, courage. You proved that age is no more than just a number... 18 years old... You were a worthy son of your parents and the Motherland... I am proud of you... I am proud to have had the honor of fighting alongside you. Why you?! Maybe the war really takes the best?! I don't understand... We will all miss you, Roman, Lumus, my brother, we will remember you forever!" - wrote a comrade-in-arms. Roman was buried in the village of Kodaky in the Kyiv region. The defender left behind his parents Yulia Oleksiivna and Viacheslav Mykolaiovych. The young defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
