Ruslan D. Skoteniuk

Born on August 31, 1974, in the village of Vovkivtsi, Shepetivka district, Khmelnytskyi region. He graduated from the secondary school (now an educational complex) in the village of Vovkivtsi, then from Vocational School No. 38 in the urban-type settlement of Hrytsiv, Shepetivka district, Khmelnytskyi region, specializing as a "tractor driver-machine operator." From 1992 to 1994, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the army, he worked as a tractor driver-machine operator in the collective farm association "Nyva," and in recent years, in security firms. In March 2015, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior gunner of the mortar platoon of the mortar battery of the 3rd mechanized battalion of the 14th separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1008 (field post V0259), city of Volodymyr-Volynskyi, Volyn region). From the summer to autumn of 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On November 13, 2015, soldier Ruslan Skotenuk was killed at a platoon stronghold near the city of Marinka, Donetsk region, from a gunshot wound incompatible with life. Along with him, senior sergeant Stanislav Osadchuk, soldier Oleg Romanovych, and senior sergeant Yuriy Yasan were killed. On November 20, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Vovkivtsi, Shepetivka district, Khmelnytskyi region.
