- Born on August 14, 1984, in the village of Teklynivka, Lyubovets district, Vinnytsia region. Lived in the village of Kovalivka, Nemyriv district, Vinnytsia region. Graduated from the general education school of the village of Kovalivka (now - Kovalivka Educational Complex "General Education School I-III degrees - Lyceum"). On February 12, 2015, mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as a senior rifleman in the 3rd motorized infantry company of the 15th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit field post V2260). Since the spring of 2015, participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On May 19, 2015, soldier Zayets, along with 5 servicemen in a combat reconnaissance patrol vehicle (BRDM-2), was sent to assist fighters who had fallen into an ambush in the village of Katerynivka, Popasna district, Luhansk region. On the way, the combat vehicle hit a mine. As a result of the explosion, soldier Zayets and soldier Kurylko were killed, and 3 other servicemen were injured.
