- Soldier Serhii Dubyna (call sign Academician) was killed on July 31, 2023, near the settlement of Yampil in the Donetsk region. He was the first to notice the occupiers who unexpectedly entered the positions of the Ukrainian defenders. He engaged them in battle, allowing his comrades to regroup and remain alive. The warrior was forever 40 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Dmytrivka, Kyiv region. In childhood, he attended a music and sports extended-day group. Later, he mastered photography, learned to play the guitar, and engaged in sports. He had a good voice and played and sang in a children's vocal and instrumental ensemble. He obtained a higher education at the Faculty of Forestry at the National Agrarian University of Ukraine (now the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine). He received a second diploma in accounting and auditing from the Melitopol Institute of Public and Municipal Administration. He was engaged in business and collaborated with INTER CARS UKRAINE, where he was a sales manager for auto parts. He was passionate about military affairs and history. He loved to go on hikes. During the full-scale invasion, the man joined the territorial defense forces of his native village, and in the summer of 2022, he became a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in a rifle company of military unit A4046. "He was the only support and reliable support for his parents. Kind, sincere, cheerful, sociable, but at the same time modest and respectful towards the elders. He did not have time to start a family, but he had a fiancée. He loved his friends and Ukraine. A person with a capital letter. He did not evade service, although he could have. He did not let his unit perish, giving his life for it. Having poor eyesight, he turned out to be the most vigilant soldier in his unit," said the deceased's friend. "Serhii had been dreaming of military affairs since childhood, preparing himself - self-improving, as if he felt that these skills would soon be needed. Kind, sincere, open, cheerful, sociable - this is how he is remembered. A bright memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew, loved, and respected Serhii," the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine noted. The defender was buried in his native village in the Kyiv region. Serhii is survived by his father Anatolii Hryhorovych and mother Liudmyla Stepanivna.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
