Senior Lieutenant Serhii Pivtoratskyi (call sign Markh) died on July 26, 2024, during the performance of a combat mission in the Pokrovsk direction. During the enemy shelling, a mine exploded near the defender's car - a fragment fatally wounded the officer. Now the warrior is forever 45 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Vertiyivka, Chernihiv region. In 2001, he graduated from the National Aviation University in Kyiv. In 2003, he married and lived with his wife in Nizhyn, and in 2011 the couple moved to Vyshneve in the Kyiv region. He worked in the window business for many years. He loved to read, was interested in history and knew it well. In March 2023, the man went to defend his country and loved ones from the Russian occupiers. He fought as part of the 111th separate brigade of the territorial defense. He was the commander of the rifle platoon of the 119th battalion. After being wounded, he became the company commander. For his worthy service, the officer was awarded the "111 OBr TrO" badge of the 1st degree, the award of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine "For Wounds", and posthumously - the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the 3rd degree. "On March 15, 2023, he was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He really wanted to drive out the enemy so that his son would not have to face this challenge of fate. He did everything that depended on him and even more. He was incredibly intelligent, fair, dedicated, a man of honor and dignity. He was a man of deep soul, a wonderful, the best father. He gave his children the most valuable thing - time together. He was a loving and caring husband, a support, a protector, a friend," said the defender's wife Iryna. "Serhii was a true officer," added his comrade-in-arms with the call sign Sava. "From the very beginning of the battalion's tasks in May 2024, as a platoon commander, he led the personnel to positions near Ocheretyne. At that time, this was one of the most dangerous directions at the front. Already in the positions, using his knowledge and leadership qualities, he began to skillfully manage the battles, adjust the artillery fire. The guys on the positions trusted him, the command was confident in him. He was wounded in the leg, but did not tell anyone - he tried, limping, to be with the guys, since the company was constantly involved in battles and needed a commander. We forced him to seek medical help, but he never confessed to his family. Having recovered a little, he headed the company. He was a commander who was respected and trusted. He did a lot of work himself. He never hid behind anyone. Whenever possible, he himself went on rotation of the guys from the positions. During the execution of the task, he and the company's senior sergeant were returning to the location and came under fire. A mine fragment caught up with their car and hit Serhii. And the company's senior sergeant received a severe concussion. We still can't believe that Serhii is no longer with us." "Serhii was an intelligent person, he always weighed his actions, always helped, did not leave in trouble. He always brought the started business to the end. Patient and restrained, responsible. He had a good sense of humor and supported in different situations. He never imposed his opinion, he was always able to listen. A son, husband and father who valued and loved his family," said his best friend Ivan. "I'm proud that I was acquainted and worked with him. He is a very decent and responsible man. I know for sure that he loves his children very much. I remember when his second child was born, he said: "Now we are all together." Once he came to the office with his son and enthusiastically told about the little one, about how he loves robotics. And I thought to myself that a father should only be like that..." - shared the memories of the deceased's boss Harik. The military was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the city cemetery in Vyshneve. At home, Serhii was awaited by his parents, wife, son and daughter.
