Biography
Karnaukhov Serhii Oleksandrovych was born on November 10, 1978 in the city of Dnipro. For some time he lived in the city of Kryvyi Rih, in 2020 he moved with his family to the city of Berdyansk in the Zaporizhzhia region. He was involved in sports, a master of sports of Ukraine of international class in powerlifting. He was a multiple medalist and champion of All-Ukrainian competitions in the late 1990s - early 2000s. He was a record holder of Ukraine, Europe and the world, in 1999 - the junior world champion. He served in the military in the sports company - he defended the honor of the brigade and the country at sports competitions. After the annexation of Crimea, he arrived at the military registration and enlistment office in Dnipro, where he was registered. On March 24, 2014, he was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine under partial mobilization and sent to serve in the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. He served in the artillery, in the position of a loader of the self-propelled artillery unit. The war for Serhii began in the infantry: on May 25, 2014, he was at his first checkpoint near the city of Pokrovsk, where he engaged in his first battle. After the battle at the 10th checkpoint, he returned to the artillery, where he began service as a loader, then became a gunner, and later the commander of the gun. He remained so during all the intense battles for the Donetsk airport. In the early days of 2015, he again moved to the infantry, later managed to transfer to the anti-tank platoon. He took part in the last assault on the airport: the grenade launcher and anti-tank platoons were sent to the village of Pisky, from where they covered the assault group. In 2016, he was appointed to the position of senior battery officer, later - to the position of battery commander. In this mode, he went through two rotations - in the Luhansk region and near the city of Mariupol. Since 2019, he has been fighting in the infantry again: he took over a machine gun platoon in the combat zone near the city of Avdiivka. During a duel with a sniper, one of the shots ricocheted - and the core of the bullet pierced Serhii's left arm. It was necessary to walk about a kilometer to the evacuation site, including through an area that was fired upon by the same sniper... After the injury, he partially lost his ability to work. But after treatment and rehabilitation, he became the commander of a heavy machine gun platoon. In the same 2019, he was transferred to a new location - to the Luhansk region. In April 2020, he got married. In 2020, he was discharged from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He got a job as a manager at a meat processing plant in the city of Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia region, and within six months he took up a managerial position. After the first shelling of the city during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he left with his family to the city of Dnipro, where he immediately went to the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. At that time, he had the military rank of sergeant and was appointed to the position of reconnaissance squad commander of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. Together with the unit, he took part in the battles on the border of the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, in the area of the cities of Balakliia and Izium in the Kharkiv region. He was killed on May 27, 2022 during massive enemy shelling near the village of Dibrivne in the Kharkiv region. He was buried at the Krasnopilskyi cemetery in Dnipro. He is survived by his wife.Burial place
