Biography
Serhii Serhiyovych Dyakunovych was born on May 5, 1986, in the town of Sosnivka, Chervonohrad district, Lviv region. He was left without parental care early in life, and he and his sister were raised by their grandmother. In 2003, he graduated from a comprehensive school in his hometown. From 2010, he worked as a miner in the face section No. 3 at the Mezhyrichanska mine of the state-owned company Lvivvuhillia. During the war in eastern Ukraine from 2014-2017, he fought on the front lines as a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). After demobilization, he returned to work at the Mezhyrichanska mine. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was called up for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (ZSU) as part of the mobilization. He served in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. He was killed on March 7, 2022, in the area of Bucha in the Kyiv region. His body was found by his comrades only after a month, on April 7, 2022, after the liberation of the area from the enemy. He was buried at the Siletsky cemetery of the Chervonohrad city community in the Lviv region.Burial place
