Serhii V. Vorona (Voron)

Senior soldier Serhii Vorona was killed on May 29, 2022 in battle with the occupiers near the city of Lysychansk in the Luhansk region. The fighter was 36 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Znamianka, Kirovohrad region. He lived in the village of Subotsi, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from the local secondary school. Then he obtained the profession of a driver at a vocational school. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2006, he graduated from the higher vocational school of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kryvyi Rih. He worked in the internal affairs bodies - in the special unit "Grifon" and the National Police, he had the rank of senior sergeant. In 2014, the man took part in the ATO in the city of Severodonetsk, Luhansk region. During his service, he received the awards "10 years of conscientious service", "For courage and bravery", "Veteran of the ATO". Later, he worked in the security service department. He was fond of football, played for local teams. He loved fishing. During the full-scale invasion, Serhii again took up the defense of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 121st separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "My beloved, dear, my soul. The best man, a loving father to his sons Roman and Artem, a caring son and brother. A true patriot, brave, confident, intelligent, kind, sincere, always ready to help. He had big plans for the future. You are our Hero, our pride. We love you very much. You will be forever in our hearts. We know that you are next to us and even from heaven you are protecting us," wrote the warrior's wife Kateryna. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Serhii was awaited by his parents, brother, wife and two sons.
